Game Description

Short

Fight through procedural fantasy biomes in a 3D top-down bullet-heaven roguelite with survivors-like build growth. Evolve auto-fire weapons into ultimates, trigger active abilities by hand, cash in killing sprees, choose when to raise the danger for better rewards, defeat giant bosses, and push into Endless Mode.

Medium

Where Giants Fall is a 3D top-down fantasy bullet-heaven action roguelite with survivors-like build growth, movement-focused combat, and the thrill of turning a fragile run into overwhelming power. Weapons auto-fire, evolve into manual ultimates such as Crimson Reavers: Crimson Guillotine, Golden Gun: Golden Verdict, Fireball: Sunfall, and Manaburst: Singularity, then keep scaling through mastery upgrades. Active abilities add mobility, healing, crowd control, burst damage, and survival tools on top of the auto-fire core, with four equipped at once and upgrade paths earned through optional trials and Ritual Insight rewards. Between stages, the Giantforge sells enhancements bound to individual weapons — thirteen of them Legendary, one per weapon — and some trade a permanent slice of maximum health for their power. Runs move through 2 regular stages, a Ritual Siege, 2 boss-biome encounters like Phalanx and Morvessa, Mother of Dread, and an Endless Mode finale built to test how far the build can carry you.

Long

Where Giants Fall is a 3D top-down fantasy bullet-heaven action roguelite where movement, upgrade choices, and active ability timing decide whether a fragile run stalls out or becomes unstoppable.

Weapons handle the constant pressure automatically, but the strongest moments come from the choices layered on top. As a weapon evolves, it can unlock a manual ultimate with its own cooldown or charge behavior, turning the weapon bar into a set of timing decisions while still leaving room for further upgrades. Active abilities let you freeze crowds, pull enemies into kill zones, escape danger, heal under pressure, or break elite packs before they overwhelm you, and optional trials can add new abilities or strengthen the ones already in your build. Weapon upgrade tracks, passive items, upgrade drafts, beacons, and wheel rewards combine to give each run a different shape. Between stages, the Giantforge adds a second economy on top: enhancements bound to individual weapons, some of which trade a permanent slice of your maximum health for their power, and thirteen Legendaries that each rewrite how one weapon fights.

Weapon Ultimates

Current weapon ultimates include Crimson Reavers: Crimson Guillotine, Fireball: Sunfall, Astral Fangs: Starfang Tempest, Manaburst: Singularity, Chain Lightning: Tempest Ascension, Frostwave: Glacial Wall, Golden Gun: Golden Verdict, Ironhail Rockets: Saturation Bombardment, Machine Gun: Bullet Frenzy, Plague Spitter: Terminal Strain, Razor Shuriken: Shuriken Tempest, Demonlash: Maw of Ruin, and Ancient Spirits: Ancestral Hunt.

Runs move through a clear Journey: 2 regular stages, a Ritual Siege, 2 boss stages, then Endless. Regular stages add killing-spree payouts and optional pressure statues that raise danger for better rewards; Ritual Siege keeps granting Active Ability Drafts as long as you keep earning Insight; boss stages preserve the accumulated run state before the final Endless survival push.

Key Features

At a glance

  • Upgradable auto-fire weapons — weapons evolve into manual ultimates, then continue growing through mastery upgrades that change cooldowns, durations, projectiles, impact, and behavior.
  • Active abilities with real impact — four equipped abilities at a time, with crowd control, mobility, healing, burst damage, and survival tools that can be earned, upgraded, and timed to turn dangerous moments into openings. Frost Nova, Void Pull, Earthspikes, Blink, Dragon Breath, Blood Pact, and more.
  • Act-based Journey structure — 2 regular stages, a Ritual Siege with unlimited Insight rewards, 2 boss encounters, then Endless. Each stage type demands something different from your build.
  • Rewarding build drafting — weapon upgrades, passive items, ability upgrades, wheel rewards, beacon choices, and optional trials compound across a run.
  • The Giantforge — a forge between stages selling enhancements bound to individual weapons, three offers a visit and rerollable as often as you can afford. Thirteen Legendaries, one per weapon, change how that weapon fights. Some enhancements trade a permanent slice of maximum health for their power, capped at 40% across a run.
  • Power Slide traversal — sliding runs on Dash charges, accelerates down slopes, throws lesser enemies aside at speed, and carries you off ledges into a wingsuit ride. It grants no invulnerability, so spending charges on it is a real decision.
  • Killing-spree rewards and danger escalation — explosive streaks bank bonus XP and gold, while optional statue awakenings permanently raise giant danger and battlefield reward density.
  • Procedural fantasy biomes — seasonal forests (winter, summer, autumn), swamps, deserts, mountains, and volcanic terrain, each with curated lighting, biome-specific enemy mixes, matched giant families, and natural dusk transitions during Overtime and boss fights.
  • Endless Mode finale — escalating enemies, elite promotions, and run-completion scoring after the final boss, with leaderboards planned for launch.
  • No microtransactions — single-purchase game.
