The update is about making more of the run feel deliberate: weapons have clearer capstone moments, Ritual Stages now push you toward Active Ability Drafts instead of only testing survival, and combat feedback should be easier to read when the screen gets busy.

New Weapon: Crimson Reavers
Crimson Reavers is a new axe-throwing weapon.
Axes carve outward, then home back to your current position, damaging enemies on both the throw and the return. The trick is movement: reposition after throwing and you can drag the returning axes through the horde instead of waiting for them to come back through the same empty lane.
At level 10, Crimson Reavers unlocks Crimson Guillotine.
Crimson Guillotine fires a focused forward flurry of axes through a narrow cutting lane, with guaranteed critical hits on both outbound and returning strikes. It uses 3 charges that recover one at a time, making it the first weapon ultimate on the site described around a multi-charge ultimate flow.
Weapon & Ability Updates
Chrono Veil now grants +100% movement speed while active, up from +50%. That makes the slow-time window much more aggressive as a repositioning tool, not just a safety button.
Skybreaker cooldown has been reduced from 18 seconds to 9 seconds, making the lightning strike available far more often.
Ancient Spirits is now a close-range spectral ward. Spirits push regular enemies away from the player, affect elites less, and leave minibosses and bosses standing their ground.
Ancient Spirits level 10 now unlocks Ancestral Maelstrom, sending giant spectral orbs spiraling outward around the player while the normal spirits remain active.
Chain Lightning: Tempest Ascension now begins with a large player-centered Skybreaker thunderstrike before the chain-bolt storm starts.
Machine Gun: Bullet Frenzy now has a short reload windup before entering its heavier firing state. Regular fire is slower and visually smaller, so the ultimate lands as a clearer power spike.
Ironhail Rockets is the new name for Grenade. Rockets now arc higher, land with larger impact blasts, and explode exactly on ground impact.
Saturation Bombardment now fires 25 rockets over a slower 1.2-second launch window, with each ultimate rocket dealing increased damage before its guaranteed critical hit.
Demonlash has been rebuilt into a faster frontal lash weapon. Its VFX and hit area now match more clearly, extra slashes stack forward instead of spreading behind the player, and Maw of Ruin unleashes five very fast guaranteed-critical lashes that stun non-boss enemies.
Plague Spitter now unlocks Terminal Strain at level 10. Terminal Strain replaces Pandemic Protocol with an aimed frontal skull-slash that applies a heavy 10-second poison to enemies in front of you. Terminal Strain ticks are guaranteed critical strikes and hit harder against targets that are already poisoned.
Plague Spitter’s regular poison damage-over-time has been reduced by 15% now that Terminal Strain is its priority-target payoff.
Ritual Stage Updates
Ritual Stages now reward offensive progress through Ritual Insight.
Destroying Ritual Anchors, defeating Wardens, defeating Champions, destroying Beacons, and completing the Ritual Stage all contribute Insight. Filling the meter grants an Active Ability Draft, giving Ritual Stages a clearer reward loop beyond survival.
Ritual Wardens
Recurring Ritual Wardens have been added.
Defeating a Warden pulls eligible enemies toward a hidden Ritual Anchor, briefly freezes the gathered group, suppresses fresh Ritual spawning for a short window, and grants Ritual Insight.
The Warden pull is now slower and easier to read, and enemies being pulled are protected from dormant-giant sacrifice while they are moved and frozen. Ritual Wardens are also tougher than before.
Ritual Beacon & Champion
Ritual Beacons now create much more pressure while active. They produce escalating enemy surges near the Beacon and release a final surge if ignored until completion.
Ritual Champion defenders now use Ritual Elite models and guard around the Champion instead of sprinting directly at the player.
Ritual-stage enemy pressure has also been increased slightly, with faster enemies and stronger initial Ritual site pressure.
An issue where an invalid enemy could appear in Ritual Stage spawn pools has also been fixed.
Movement & Controls
Jumping has been retuned for a higher but snappier arc.
Jump Height bonuses now raise the jump apex without making airtime feel overly floaty. Releasing Jump while descending now applies a light fast-fall, giving short hops and landings a crisper feel.
Scripted launch moments, such as Golden Gun and Giant Remnant trial launches, now keep consistent arcs regardless of Jump Height bonuses.
UI, Rewards & Combat Feedback
Active ability ultimates can now support multiple charges. Crimson Guillotine uses this system to show and recover multiple ultimate charges, while existing single-charge ultimates continue to behave normally.
Ritual Insight now has a compact HUD progress panel so players can track progress toward the next Active Ability Draft.
Ritual Champion and Ritual Beacon status UI now uses clearer timers and event labels.
Poison and toxin damage numbers now use a distinct purple style with a white outline, making poison ticks easier to separate from regular damage during dense fights.
Polish & Stability
Weapon audio, impact timing, poison feedback, Demonlash visuals, and stage-transition behavior have all received polish in this update.
Several stability improvements also landed around Ritual Stage spawn pools, scripted launch arcs, and transition reliability.
v0.52 is a combat-readability and Ritual-reward update: Crimson Reavers adds a new movement-driven weapon pattern, Ritual Insight gives objective stages a clearer payoff, and several existing weapons now have cleaner, sharper ultimate identities.
